ZZ Top- 1969
ZZ Top is an American Texas Blues and Hard rock band formed in 1969 in Houston, Texas. The band consists of guitarist and lead vocalist Billy Gibbons, bassist and co-lead vocalist Dusty Hill, and drummer Frank Beard. The original members of the band have been performing continuously for more than 40 years. They began to get significant attention with the release of their third album, Tres Hombres in 1973. Their blues-based, guitar-driven boogie beat made them distinctive, along with their signature sunglasses, long beards, and flashy outfits. Beard, Gibbons and Hill also continue to write the vast majority of their songs, as they have throughout their career. The group continues to tour and record.
Over the years, one of ZZ Top's greatest strengths has been their consistently high-standard live presentation and performance on numerous record-breaking tours in the USA. One of rock's maverick attractions, Gibbons, Hill and Beard have retained their eccentric, colourful image, dark glasses and Stetson hats, complete with an almost casual musical dexterity that has won over hardened cynics and carping critics. In addition to having produced a fine (but sparse) canon of work, they will also stay in the record books as having the longest beards in musical history (although one member, the inappropriately named Frank Beard, is clean-shaven).

The icon car "The Eliminator" that appeared in their videos and on the album cover of the same name is known as The Eliminator.
It's a 1933 Ford that Billy Gibbons had made into a Hot Rod, and it proved so popular that he had another one built just like it to go on tour. Gibbons was into Hot Rods and for many kids watching MTV, The Eliminator was their first look at one in action.
In 1974 after watching the movie The California Kid, starring Martin Sheen, Billy Gibbons of the famous rock group, ZZ Top found himself amazed by the 1933 Ford driven by Sheen in the movie.
Soon afterwards Billy was able to contact the car owner, Pete Chapouris. Billy was convinced that he had to have a ’33 Roadster for himself. The only factor left was to find a ’33 Ford Coupe for the project. Billy was now searching for a donor car. This was in the days before Ebay ect.
Billy got lucky and actually found a one owner 1933 Ford Coupe owned by a ‘little old lady’ in Tucson Arizona.Billy flew to Tucson and was amazed when he saw the absolutely pristine car.The lady had bought the car, driven it very little and parked it.The custom work was done by Don Thelen of Paramount.
The transformation from stock to hot rod took a long five years.
The car appeared in three ZZ Top videos, “Sharp Dressed Man”, “Gimme All Your Lovin”, and “Legs”. The car now resides in the Rock n’ Roll Museum in Cleveland, Ohio.

The Beach Boys
The Beach Boys are an American rock band, formed in Hawthorne California in 1961. The group's original lineup consisted of brothers Brian, Dennis and Carl Wilson, their cousin Mike Love and friend Al Jardine. Initially managed by the Wilsons' father Murry the Beach Boys signed with Capitol Records in 1962. The band's early music gained popularity across the United States for its close vocal harmonies and lyrics reflecting a Southern California youth culture of surfing, cars and romance.
Brian Wilson's songs represented a West Coast teen fantasy, full of surfing, driving and pretty girls that barely hid the songwriter's inner conflicts. Wilson coordinated and composed glossy, polished tracks with an ultra-smooth blend of guitars and vocal harmonies, creating a signature pop sound as recognizable as any in rock history.
